Neil Young coming back to Colorado

Neil Young is coming back, this time to Magness Arena on April 27. It’s priced $62 to $157, on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Check out the title cut from the new album, Fork in the Road.
That’s just one of a slew of concerts announced today. We already told you Depeche Mode was coming to Red Rocks on Aug. 27. Tickets for that show go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, $55 to $89. Celtic Woman is on the Rocks on July 1 and 2. Those are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday too, $43 to $110. All are through Ticketmaster.
The news isn’t all good. Nickelback is also coming to town, with an Aug. 25 show at Fiddler’s Green. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, this time through LiveNation.com, $29 to $59.

No U2 on the first leg of the new tour.
Jeff Beck starts his tour in April…cross your fingers for a Denver Show
Will this be all electric?
Unless he comes back in the summer – I don’t see Jeff Beck making it to Denver.

I guess it’s not out of line with other arena acts touring this spring, but I’m disappointed the Neil ticket prices are pretty high. I see Mark’s got $62 as the low end, however Neil’s site lists the cheapest at $92.
Hopefully Mark’s right on this. If not, after shelling out in the $90 range for both Bruce and the Dead, I can’t add Neil in as well.
Just got my tickets through the presale and am oh-so happy to see him on this tour. Here’s hoping the new album doesn’t suck. Thanks, Mark, for the heads up in time to get over to the presale.
The tickets were expensive, but after the death scare, I will take every chance I can get to see Neil play.
I think we’re looking at second-leg U2 in 2010. Though we did get them in November 1992 at the old Mile High.
Got my tickets through the presale. I can’t believe someone would throw down to watch the Dead, and complain about Neil’s prices. Neil is still creating music…good music. I could have only been happier had it been at red rocks this summer. Neville’s should be a good opener too!
I think the Dead is learning some lessons this year in pricing — the VIP tickets are somewhere around $400 and they’re not doing well at all. Even the $90s aren’t doing well — I just pulled up 20th row behind the stage. I asked Bill Kreutzmann about those prices when he played Denver recently and he pleaded ignorance. Fleetwood Mac learned a big lesson too. Even the Clapton/Winwood show isn’t sold out.
It’s a matter of personal economics – there are only so many $90-$100 shows I can afford in a stretch of time. For me, all three shows are worth the ticket prices. Had I known Neil was going to add us to what he’s got going this spring, it may have been different. But I can’t afford all three shows within a month and I already paid for Bruce and the Dead.
Thus, disappointment.
Speaking of prices, $15.50 to see Outformation and Tea Leaf Green at the Ogden next week. That’s a good price.
Mark –
To your earlier point, according to http://www.jambands.com the Dead are now selling “specially priced” tickets for their Meadowlands shows at around $53. Bet we see that here is they aren’t selling out..
JS
I know what you mean JS. I will be out of the country for Bruce which made that easy. I’m going to hold off on Fleetwood Mac until the week of show. I’m going to guess I can pick up a good ticket for under $100. It hurt to shell out $150 for Clapton, but I missed him last time he rolled through. I hope they start announcing more Red Rocks shows soon, I’m pretty unimpressed so far.
also from Mark’s last story on Dane Cook. $100 for a comedian?!? What does he do lie a 75-minute set? Seems ridiculous.
Does this mean Neil won’t headline the MHMF?
